In 1991, a trekking guide requested Dr. Antonia Neubauer to establish a library in Junbesi, a small village in the Nepal Himalaya. A library of 900 books1 was established in the form of a
social enterprise so the library could generate its own income and meet its operational and maintenance costs. This first model of a READ Nepal community library has now spread across
Nepal, India, Bhutan and is expanding to Africa….
